Administrative Assistant (Part‑Time, Remote‑Friendly)
7.5 hours per week Mostly remote Occasional day in Cork Flexible hours (3 year term)
A highly flexible part‑time role ideal for an experienced administrator with strong organisational, HR or payroll skills who enjoys working independently and supporting a small leadership team.
This position offers autonomy, meaningful work, and the ability to fit your hours around other commitments.
What You’ll Do
Provide executive and administrative support to a volunteer Board.
Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations and meeting documentation.
Manage inboxes, respond to queries and act as first point of contact.
Maintain organised digital and paper records in line with GDPR.
Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, circulate minutes and track action items.
Manage monthly payroll and ensure timely payment of wages.
Oversee banking tasks including reconciliations, mandates and online banking.
Support financial processes including invoice payments and annual accounts preparation.
Handle insurance renewals, incident reporting and compliance documentation.
Support HR processes: contracts, employee queries, attendance, leave, vetting and recruitment.
Coordinate health & safety tasks including annual risk assessments.
What You Bring
5+ years’ experience in administration, operations, HR, payroll or governance.
Experience managing monthly payroll and online business banking.
Strong IT skills and confidence with digital communication tools.
Excellent written communication and document‑production skills.
High level of discretion, professionalism and confidentiality.
Self‑motivation, flexibility and ability to work independently.
Full driving licence and access to a car (occasional Cork meetings).
Desirable:
Experience in the charity or voluntary sector.
Familiarity with governance codes or regulatory compliance.
Comfortable working with a volunteer Board remotely.
